The Eye Within is a non profit-making organization of Art. Since its inception in 1996, we have devoted itself fully into the promotion of contemporary Indian art and artists.

Colours for Tomorrow   was a unique attempt of ours to promote art-awareness among the children, with whom lay the future of our country. We had selected children from all sections of the society- slums, physically and mentally challenged sections, the intellectual section. At different schools and venues, we did art camps to judge the consciousness of creativity among children. Among them we selected the first hundred in whom the spark of creativity is most potent. We gave them the opportunity to participate in the two-days’ workshop in Victoria Memorial Hall. There they learnt the basics of drawing and sketches from the eminent painters. Our motto was to give rise to the feeling of one-ness among the children of various classes of the society.

In this project, The Eye Within had collaborated with ‘Victoria Memorial’.The first preliminary class took place in 28th of August in the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy. The second preliminary class was held in 30th of August in Alipore Girls’& Boys’ School, Balaka Scheme, Kalitola, M.G.Road, P.O.Joka, South 24 Paraganas, Pin- 743 512.

The third preliminary class was held in 1st of September in Ruhi Sports Club, at 2B Gas Street , Kolkata 700 009.

The fourth preliminary class was held in 2nd of September in Chowk at 61 Garden Reach Road , Kolkata 700 024.

Fifth preliminary class was held in 18th of September, RIDDHI Integrated Montessori & Primary Education Center .

The final art workshop was held in 25th and 26th of September in Victoria Memorial Hall where the most promising, talented children was given an opportunity to interact with the eminent artists like Subrata Pal, Prokash Karmakar,Eleena Banik, Dibakar Chakraborty, Moloy Karmakar, Sumita Pal, Khan Jayanta, Shyamashree Basu and young artists like Arya Chandra Choudhury, Durbananda Jana, Rajib Deyashi. They learnt the basics of drawing and sketches from them. As these children mostly came from the deprived section of the society, it was a life- time opportunity for them. And we, The Eye Within, were honored and most glad to give them the opportunity.
