 PIU SARKAR

About the Artist:

Piu Sarkar’s paintings are a medium through which the artist is communicating with her ‘higher self’. It is a process of meditation through which she is seeking her ‘inner voice’. Her narrative dreams capes have originated from personal experience of ‘repetitive dreams’. Her recent series is based on ancient alchemical symbolism and mythological icons. Her dreamscapes are greatly inspired by Carl Jung’s theory of “collective unconsciousness”.

She has held nine solo exhibitions and has also participated in several group exhibitions along with the galleries in U.A.E., Singapore and Bangladesh. In India, she has participated in the "Harmony Art Show" by Reliance Group, Drawing and Painting for AIFACS, Lalit Kala Academy etc. Her paintings are in collection of  Hyatt Regency Hotel, Hotel Hindustan International, Onida House, R.P.G. and several International Art Patrons
