Born in 1948 in Bengal, Rini Dhumal studied painting from M.S. University of Baroda. “All my works make a unique and signature statement: they define my ethos, my philosophy, my style, my own metaphors.”
Considering women as her core inspiration, the print maker and painter  has tried to depict women in many forms through her work. The artist is making a conscious effort  to bring printmaking in the mainstream art industry.
One of her shows titled “Parallel Wings” showcases 66 of her artworks ranging from paintings to sculptures to terracotta to tapestries. The diverse artist, has received many awards and scholarships such as Chancellor's Gold Medal 1972, Governors Gold Medal, Calcutta 1974 Govt. of India Cultural Scholarship, worked under Prof. K G Subramaniam 1973-75, French Govt. Scholarship, worked under Sir S W Hayter at “Atelier 17” and many more.
